Abstract:

The pandemic of recent months has revealed the necessity for a reassessment of one of the fundamental dimensions of museums: education. The existence of a real physical distance between the institution and the public has led to the creation of new content, the formation of new skills and the discovery of new ways to reach the public. The educational factor has become essential again for museums and for that reason it is necessary to give up, at least in part, the old elitist and rigid patterns. The museum has a real partner in the public and it is only up to the institution to find the most inventive, the most innovative way to preserve and perpetuate this close relationship. The museum as a social actor can once again become a central pillar in education, in character formation and in guiding new generations.
