Romanian Journal of Museums – Volume 1/2025 – Museums and Tourism: An Embraced Challenge?

2025

Issue 1/2025 of the Romanian Journal of Museums explores the relationship between museums and cultural tourism from a strategic and critical perspective. This approach is grounded in a vision that recognizes heritage as an essential resource for development and for strengthening the identity of destinations. The articles examine the museum as a space of encounter between tourists and memory, propose models for the valorization and reactivation of collections, and present examples of good practice in linking research with public visibility. Particular emphasis is placed on making heritage more accessible, fostering inclusion, and supporting active participation and visitor autonomy.
