The ICOM General Conference, held in Prague in August 2022, focused on the theme “The Power of Museums.” Museum professionals from around the world demonstrated their commitment to strengthening the field by adopting a new definition of the museum. Approved by a large majority after six years of debate, this new definition marks a turning point in the global history of museums. The authors featured in this issue of the Romanian Journal of Museums address both the ongoing process of museum reinvention and their capacity for recovery and renewal.
