“Sibiu – European Cultural Capital” [2007]
2007

Description
In the context of the programme “Sibiu – European Cultural Capital 2007″, the Centre for Studies and Research in the Field of Culture carried out a study among the stakeholders involved.
Several analyses were made: an analysis of public opinion, an analysis of economic operators and an analysis of cultural operators.
The study aimed at obtaining quantifiable results of the programme’s objectives – by measuring several economic, social and cultural indicators – following-up the programme’s performance during its development and drawing-up recommendations for other cultural programmes.
The results show a high notoriety of the programme, a participation of approximately 5% of Romania’s total population and a high level of satisfaction related to the events. Regarding the analysis of the economic operators, the companies that invested the most in the prospect of the programme operate in the fields of hospitality, tourism and transport. Finally, the analysis of the cultural operators showed that they had begun preparing themselves for the programme more than one year before it started and they invested particularly in improving the space and in growing the number of personnel or collaborators.
