“Sibiu – European Cultural Capital”: Report for the Last Stage of the Impact Study, June-July [2008]

In the context of the project “Sibiu – European Cultural Capital 2007″, the Centre for Studies and Research in the Field of Culture carried out an impact study, with the following objectives: measurement of several economic, social and cultural indicators, quantification of the programme’s results and analysis of the programme’s performance.
The impact study was based on the information obtained following a survey applied to various categories of cultural operators. Following this study, the major contribution of the event’s promotion was emphasised.
As regards the benefits resulted from the programme, the vast majority of Sibiu’s population mentioned the economic benefits first and the benefits related to notoriety – second. The programme was perceived as beneficial for the development of the city of Sibiu.
