The National Conference of Cultural Managers – 4th edition, organised by the National Institute for Research and Cultural Training, will take place on the 28th and 29th of October, at the National Library of Romania in Bucharest – Symposium Hall (No. 22, Unirii Blvd.), in partnership with the National Theatre Festival/UNITER and the National Library of Romania, within the National Theatre Festival. The conference takes place under the aegis of ENCATC – European network on cultural management and policy, the most important network of cultural policies and management in Europe.
The conference is a platform for debates and dialogue and in a short while it has become the most important reunion of the managers of cultural institutions, as well as of the representatives of funding authorities. This edition’s theme is “Issues of the legal framework and general issues related to the management of public institutions”.
For the second time in a row, the event will host three international guests, representatives of renowned entities in the field: Prof. Manuèle DEBRINAY-RIZOS, Vice-president of ENCATC – European network in cultural management and policy, Prof. Camille JUTANT, Director of the DPACI Master (Développement de projets artistiques et culturels internationaux) of ICOM (University Lyon II) and Prof. Lluís BONET AGUSTÍ (Facultat d’Economia i Empresa – University of Barcelona), professor of applied economics and coordinator of the doctoral program “Cultural and Heritage Management” and director of the “Cultural Management” Master.
Within this fourth edition, the participants will approach themes of major importance for the public and private organisations, including legal issues, during discussions moderated by national and international experts. Thus, they will directly communicate the concerns and recommendations related to the current situation of the cultural field and will benefit from the international guests’ expertise.
The programme will include general sessions dedicated to the public or private organisations, as well as debates on the current status of the cultural management and the needs for regulations. The application of the management generates notable achievements in the cultural field, and this is why the research and debates on the management system and its influence on the activity of the cultural operators become a necessity.
