National Conference of Cultural Managers – 3rd edition

The National Conference of Cultural Managers – third edition, organised by the National Institute for Research and Cultural Training will take place on the 29^th and 30^th of October, at the National Library of Romania, in Bucharest, within the National Theatre Festival.

The conference is a platform for debates and dialogue and in a short while it has become the most important reunion of the cultural institutions managers, of independent Romanian cultural entrepreneurs, of cultural management experts, as well as of representatives of the funding authorities. This edition’s theme is “Regarding and disregarding the cultural management”.

For the first time, the event will host two international guests, representatives of renowned entities in the field:  Manuèle Debrinay-Rizos, Vice-president of ENCATC – European network in cultural management and policy and Milena Dragicevic Sesic, UNESCO Chair in cultural policy and management, Prof. at the Arts University,  Belgrade.

The year of 2016 has brought numerous changes in the cultural management at national level, which will be the subject of one of the conference’s sessions. The participants will approach themes of major importance for the public and private organisations, including legal aspects, during discussions moderated by national and international experts. Thus, they will directly and freely communicate the concerns and recommendations related to the current situation of the cultural field. The programme will include general sessions dedicated to public or private organisations, as well as debates on the status of today’s cultural management and the needs for regulation.  

The application of management as a science generates notable achievements in the cultural field and this is why the research and debates on the management system and its influence on the activity of cultural operators become a necessity.
